Email tools
Templates, broadcasts, automations, and delivery rules.
Email lives under /waitlists/[id]/emails with three sub-tabs: Templates, Broadcasts, Automations. All three require owner/admin email permission. If you lack it, the Emails nav item is hidden.

Broadcasts
One-time sends to opted-in verified subscribers.
Automations
Welcome, reminder, and milestone recipes.
Resend
Connect your verified sending domain.
Templates and tests
Open Email tools → Templates. You manage signup verification and offboarding templates with subject, preview text, heading, message, and additional content. Markdown and {{waitlist}} are supported.
Edit and save
Change subject and body, then Save. Unsaved edits are not used for tests or sends.
Send a test to a valid address
A test is a real email, not an on-screen preview. It uses the saved template.
Check verification delivery health
The Templates header shows pending/failed counts for the latest 5 verification events plus dispatcher state: Setup needed, Needs attention, or Key configured.
Delivery needs a sender and a scheduler
A saved template alone does not send mail. You need a configured sender (Resend or deployment default) and a running outbox dispatcher (OUTBOX_DISPATCH_SECRET plus an authenticated scheduler calling /api/internal/email-outbox). Without the scheduler, mail queues but never leaves.
Consent and suppression — read once
Verification does not mean marketing consent
Broadcasts and automations require both verified email and explicit marketing opt-in. Unsubscribe and workspace suppressions (bounces/complaints from provider webhooks, including early races) are checked again right before delivery.
- Unsubscribed addresses are excluded from previews and sends.
- Suppressed addresses stay suppressed until the underlying bounce/complaint is resolved.
- Pausing or cancelling stops queued messages, but messages already handed to the provider may still arrive.
